Logger Pro Lab [Teacher Edition]

Help for teachers setting up the lab.

Here is what the set up should look like.

    

After the motion detector is connected to the Lab Pro is connected to the computer, open up Logger Pro. The Lab Pro should be read automatically or it will ask you how to read the interface after Lab Pro is connected. If not, go to the upper left of the window and follow Experiment> Connect Interface. Once Logger Pro is opened use the route Experiment>Show Sensors or click on the Lab Pro button in the top center of the window to open the Sensors for Lab Pro window.

Now that we have the Lab Pro Sensors window up, you just need to drag the motion detector thumbnail into box representing the port to which it is physically connected.

Students should measure the period of frequency and get a position vs. time graph which looks like a sine wave. When the students design the experiment make sure they measure the period then use the equation or it’s frequency equivalent.
